AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL CULTURE
Learn about the fascinating Aboriginal culture of Australia, which is firmly intertwined with the land, ancient traditions, stories and sacred rituals.
According to mythology, the land was entrusted to the Aborigines by a higher power, which they settled as hunter-gatherers and with whom they form a unit. A surprising amount of their tradition has been preserved since they came to the continent about 60,000 years ago. Isolated from the rest of the world, Aborigines did not develop any script, had no metal tools, or did any agriculture for many millennia.
According to their concept, the people do not own the land, but they are responsible for it. They are part of nature and have a highly spiritual connection to their land. A land of never-ending dreams: From the legends of the dream time, when the great spirits conjured up the coral reefs, rainforests and scorched red deserts, to the travellers who describe Australia as their dream destination. The land Down Under with its millennia-old history deserves our undivided attention and respect.
DreamAroo recognizes the traditional owners of the land across Australia and their enduring connection to the land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their elders in the past, present and future.
