Great Barrier Island
Experience a carefree few days away from the typical holiday destinations on Aotea, the Dark Sky Sanctuary. The island was so named because of its absolute remoteness and the fact that there are no street lights here. An absolutely popular but (still) secret item on your bucket list for stargazers and those who want to experience the Milky Way in all its glory. What is special about this island, however, is its originality. This seclusion otherwise found in New Zealand in places like Fiordland is barely a stone’s throw from Auckland. Miles of deserted sandy beaches, mountains with magnificent views and hot springs allow for a lot of rest and relaxation.

Nightsky Cottage Experience
Nestled in the heart of the New Zealand bush is an award winning gem that connects you with nature in a beautiful and sustainable environment. When you step out of your car, you walk 50m seafront promenade that takes you straight to Nightsky Cottage. Enjoy the starry sky through a skylight in the lounge while sitting comfortably on the couch in front of the log fire. Plunge into the two bathtubs next to each other and let your soul dangle. It is also exciting if you look for a quiet spot in the bush and listen to the voices of the kiwis or other New Zealand birds.
