My independent internship started in Alice Springs with Autopia Tours, and the 3 ½ weeks there were simply incredible. I got to watch the guides during tours through the Red Centre, work in the depot, and learn so much. Every tour was a new adventure, and working behind the scenes showed me how much passion, planning, and organization goes into these trips.
After that, I spent three weeks in Melbourne with Explore Australia – and honestly, that almost topped it all. My boss George is amazing, and my colleagues were great. I got to join almost every tour Explore Australia offered, from day trips to special highlights around Victoria.
And Melbourne itself? Simply my new favorite city! Culture, cafés, street art, the lifestyle – it’s all perfect here. The parties were awesome, I made many new friends from around the world, and hostel life in both cities was really fun. I experienced so much and learned a lot that I already know: I will be back!
These internships not only gave me incredible insights into the tourism industry but also showed me how exciting and varied Australia is – whether at work, exploring cities, or enjoying free time. An experience I would recommend to anyone.
